Why I Now Offer One-to-One Training Walks and Full Training Days
Training a dog is never a one-size-fits-all journey. Every dog—and every home—is different. Over the years, I’ve worked with families, individuals, and dogs of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. What I’ve come to understand is that sometimes what’s needed most is not another group class or one-off consultation, but a dedicated block of focused, hands-on help. That’s why I now offer one-to-one training walks and full training days,
One-to-One Training Walks: Precision with Purpose
A training walk isn’t just a stroll. These one-hour sessions are designed to focus on one specific behaviour or area of concern at a time. That might be improving lead walking, navigating reactivity, reinforcing recall, or building confidence around triggers. By concentrating on one behaviour per session, we can make meaningful progress without overwhelming your dog—or you.
These walks are particularly helpful if you’re already working with me through a training package. They act as momentum boosters, helping you stay on track between sessions, especially if life gets a little busy. I’ll take your dog out and work on the behaviour we’ve been focusing on, then report back with a progress summary, including what’s working, what we’re refining, and what to continue at home.
They’re also a fantastic option if you’ve already completed a block of training but want to top-up or revisit a skill. You might be surprised how a focused walk can bring clarity and confidence back to the surface. At the moment, these walks are primarily available for existing clients, but I may open them up more widely—watch this space.
Full Training Days: A Deeper Dive into Behaviour Change
For those dogs who need a bit more support—or families who are short on time—Training Days offer something extra. Running from approximately 10am to 3pm, these full-day sessions give your dog the opportunity to rehearse and reinforce key behaviours in real-life environments, guided by a professional.
These days are tailored around one or two specific areas you’d like help with. That might include proofing recall in different environments, practising calm settle or stationing behaviours, building confidence through our secure Confidence Course, or improving focus and engagement during group walks (if suitable). Your dog will get the chance to experience gentle exposure to different settings and dogs, all while I work directly with them to build resilience, reliability, and trust.
However, it’s important to stress that training days are not a ‘send away and fix it’ solution. You—the owner—are still a vital part of the picture. At the end of each training day, you’ll receive clear feedback: either through a written summary, video clips, or a short handover session. I’ll explain exactly what we worked on, how your dog responded, and what you’ll need to do next to maintain the progress. This is a team effort, and your understanding and involvement are what will make the results stick.
When Life Gets in the Way—Support You Can Trust
Life doesn’t always leave room for consistent, in-the-moment training. Some behaviours need a little more time and structure to get right. These new services are designed to meet you where you are—whether that’s mid-way through a training journey or in need of a fresh start. They offer practical support, experienced guidance, and most importantly, a compassionate approach tailored to your dog’s individual learning style.
Whether it’s a one-to-one walk to maintain momentum, or a full day of focused learning to move through a sticking point, these sessions give you the reassurance that your dog is learning in a safe, skilled, and supportive environment.
Training Packages
You will understand why and how to train like a trainer
If we do not understand how they view the world, how they view the environment how they interpret it and interact with it how can we be the ones to guide them through it.
Sarah will help you to speak dog, to see how they are feeling and what they are saying to you and Sarah will teach you how to respond. In every training session you will learn about associative learning and how to teach your dog using classical and Operant conditioning. You will learn how to change their emotional responses using positive associations and how we can accidentally reinforce unwanted behaviours.
Sarah is also very conscious of breed and character differences, some aren't comfortable sitting due to their shape and build, some characters aren't comfortable sitting due to their insecurities. Training is not a one shoe fits procedure.
This in-depth consultation is your starting point. We’ll spend up to two hours together, taking a full history, identifying your goals, and planning the best route forward. Then, we get started straight away.
You’ll be actively involved in the training from the first session — I’ll coach you as we go, making sure your timing, rewards, and confidence are spot on before I leave. You’ll come away with a clear, structured training plan tailored to your dog and your household.
Sometimes, the starter package is all you need — especially if you're feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice online and just want to get back on track with kind, effective training.
But if we’re working on multiple skills, or more layered behaviours, we may need the complete or intensive package.
Lead pulling?
Does your dog pull on the lead? Together we get to the route of the problem, is your dog comfortable in the training environment, are there signs of anxiety or arousal, we will look at how to address these. Do we need to go back to door manners and leave the house in a calmer state, would the dog benefit from some calming techniques.
Does your dog jump on visitors? Lets teach an incompatible behaviour, lets look at reasons why your dog is jumping? Are you accidentally reinforcing it? Maybe your dog is jumping because its anxious and would benefit from a Pattern Game such as the Side to Side. We will look a0t the context, the dogs behaviours and make a plan that will work and last.
Fearful & Anxious Dog Support Package
Helping your dog feel safe enough to learn.
45-minute sessions · Flexible frequency · Discounted add-ons available
Fearful and anxious dogs aren’t “badly behaved.” They’re overwhelmed. Often, they’ve learned through experience that the world isn’t safe — whether that’s due to trauma, poor socialisation, painful medical conditions, or simply a sensitive temperament. This package is designed to help them unlearn fear and rediscover trust — at their own pace, in their own time.
There’s no one-size-fits-all formula for this work. Some dogs need gentle input once a week. Others benefit from more frequent contact — two shorter sessions per week to build confidence and familiarity. Some dogs may need to pause and reflect before progressing. However your dog moves through the process, I’ll be with you every step of the way, helping shape their journey without rushing or pushing.
🧠 Why this takes time — and why it’s worth it
We now understand, through neuroscience and behavioural studies, that it can take a minimum of six months to lay down new emotional learning pathways in the brain — especially when fear and trauma are involved. Every time your dog practices a new, positive experience, it helps rewrite their internal story. But this change isn’t linear — and it doesn’t happen overnight.
That’s why this package isn’t about ticking off behaviours. It’s about nurturing emotional safety, fostering secure attachment, and creating new neural patterns that help your dog feel calm, capable, and curious again. The value of that transformation can’t be overstated — because a dog who feels safe is a dog who can finally learn.
--What the 45 minute sessions package includes;
Gentle, tailored training focused on one or two behaviours
Access to the Confidence Course and enrichment areas
Games and activities that support the parasympathetic nervous system (settle work, scatter feeding, puzzle games, etc.)
Pattern games from the Control Unleashed framework, including the 1-2-3 game
Lead walking support using my unique Sarah Walk method — designed especially for anxious dogs
These sessions take place in a calm, secure environment where your dog can safely explore and decompress. And as they begin to trust, we layer in the skills that help them thrive in daily life — at their pace, and on their terms.
🧩 Supporting you as well as your dog
This isn’t just training. It’s emotional support — for both ends of the lead. I’ll guide you through what your dog needs, why they behave the way they do, and how you can respond with confidence and clarity. You’ll receive support not only during sessions, but also through regular recaps, ideas to try at home, and discounted access to:
Training Walks — where I work on a key behaviour with your dog
Training Days — full day support in a safe and stimulating environment
Because consistency matters, and sometimes, we all need an extra hand.
How's your recall?
Recall issues? Why should your dog come back to you? What's the motivator for the dog to choose you and not the dog in the distance? Do we need to improve communication? Do we need to improve your value in the eyes of your dog? How often do you practice recall? Are you training consistently? We can achieve amazing results by addressing these.
Are you proofing your training? Dogs are contextual learners who need help generalizing their training, to do this we need to train in many environments with different levels of distractions. Building training like this prevents the "But he does it at home" problem. We shall increase the level of distractions slowly in tried and tested locations with a training plan for you to follow.

Training days
£65.00 per dog · 11am–4pm
A focused day of real-world training to support key behaviours and meaningful change.
Sometimes, making progress with your dog’s behaviour needs more than a weekly session. Sometimes it needs time — dedicated, focused time away from the usual routines and triggers. That’s where my Training Days come in.
Over the course of five hours, I’ll work intensively with your dog on one or two specific behaviours that you’d like help with. This might be recall, lead walking, learning to settle in new environments, navigating reactivity, or building confidence in the outside world. The aim is not to rush or cram — it’s to allow space for learning, decompression, and skill-building in a calm, controlled and supportive setting.
These sessions take place in varied environments, including secure outdoor areas, natural spaces, and carefully managed group walk opportunities if appropriate. The change of scene plays a big part in your dog’s ability to learn. Away from the usual stressors or associations, many dogs begin to absorb new patterns of behaviour more easily — and begin to generalise those behaviours to real-life situations.
But Training Days are not about handing over your dog and hoping for the best. Lasting change comes from teamwork. At the end of the day, you’ll receive a written or video recap, showing what we worked on, how your dog responded, and what you’ll need to do to keep the progress going. I’ll guide you through how to reinforce what’s been learned so it becomes part of your daily life.
This is about support, not shortcuts. It’s a helping hand during the parts of your journey that feel hard to navigate alone. You will have WhatsApp support, training plan, videos and use of training field

No dog is the same, no family environment the same, no remedy to help change unwanted behaviours is the same. But the ingredients to change this is all the same.
Learning why that behaviour is happening in the first place, understanding it and addressing it. Do we need to look at the environment? Enrichment? Do we need to improve your communication skills, what can we do to make it easier for the dog to be successfully, implementing training in everyday situations and being consistent are ways we can create more enjoyable relationship with our four legged family members.
If you have unwanted behaviours or if you are worried about behaviours escalating, if you want to understand why your dog is offering these behaviours and learn about the canine mind and body then do book a session.
Evolution & Nuroscience
Evolution & Nuroscience
Slightly obsessed with neuroscience, Evolution, Biology an body language. I love the canine brain, I can watch seminars, webinars and read books on this subject for hours. Science and what we know about the canine mind is increasing daily, we have some brilliant minds to learn from. I pride myself on staying up to date and learning more and more. My plan is to teach you the owner/handler enough to make you the trainer, to allow you the ability to communicate at a deeper level really becoming the advocate your dog needs to navigate through the world we have created.
FAQs
-
If your dog is currently working on a specific behaviour — such as recall, lead walking, reactivity, or building confidence — then yes, absolutely. These sessions are ideal for dogs who benefit from one-to-one time in real-life environments, with kind, consistent guidance and plenty of practice.
Training Walks are especially helpful for keeping momentum between regular sessions. Training Days offer a more intensive opportunity to explore and rehearse behaviours more deeply, particularly if time or overwhelm is a factor at home.
Not sure which is right for you? Just get in touch and we’ll figure it out together.
-
Yes, but you won’t be left guessing. After each session or day, you’ll receive clear feedback (written or video) explaining what was worked on, how your dog responded, and what steps you’ll need to take next. Consistency is key — and while I can help set strong foundations, it’s your follow-through that makes it stick.
-
Training Walks are currently available to existing clients only, or as a follow-up after a full training package. Training Days, however, can be booked by anyone — whether you're already working with me or you're just looking for some focused support.
-
Yes — always. I use force-free, reward-based techniques that support emotional well-being and encourage your dog to think, not fear. These sessions are about building confidence and cooperation, not compliance.
