Behaviour-led support for puppies, family dogs and dogs with behavioural challenges.
I founded Parker's Canine Care & Training in 2008 because I believe every behaviour has a reason.
My role isn't simply to teach dogs new behaviours. It's to help you understand why your dog behaves the way they do, build their confidence and create lasting behaviour change through kind, evidence-based training.
I believe that emotion drives behaviour. When dogs feel safe, understood and supported, learning becomes easier and lasting change becomes possible.
Helping dogs and their families build confidence, resilience and lifelong skills through kind, evidence-based training.
Whether you're raising a puppy, supporting an anxious or fearful dog, or working through more complex behaviour challenges, my aim is to help you think dog—understanding what your dog is communicating so you can become their advocate, teammate and guide.
Together we'll build a relationship based on communication, trust and respect, because training isn't just about teaching cues. It's about giving your dog the confidence to thrive and giving you the freedom and peace of mind to enjoy life together.

For anxious dogs
A Safe Space where owners are in the same boat. A place where we can build on positive exposure, each time building confidence and resilience to your anxious dog.
Stress on daily walks can really take its toll on your dog. Everytime your dog has a stressful encounter the sympathetic nervous system is engaged and priming the body with norepinephrine and adrenaline ready for the amygdala to make its decision. Even if your dog hardly reacts the dogs heart rate has increased, blood vessel have restricted and all the nerve ending are fully wired.
These experiences not only cause a negative association and reduce your dogs confidence they create a stress response which while in full swing reduces the function of other organs, it can slow down the digestive system for example and if not helped create chronic stress. It can even prevent reproduction. The body cant function to its fullest when its sympathetic nervous is continually engaged.
Here at Safe Space we avoid that from happening because we are all at a distance and distance s key, I shall explain all things anxiety to you on the day. I shall come and walk with you (if your dog doesn’t mind) find out about your dog, teach you some pattern games and offer tips on day to day management.

Why choose Parker's Canine Training & Behaviour?
Understanding the canine mind has always been my passion. I'm fascinated by how dogs think, learn and experience the world around them. I spend countless hours studying behaviour, neuroscience, stress, evolution and the incredible connection between the brain, body and behaviour—because the more I understand, the better I can help the dogs and families who come to me.
Over the last decade, our understanding of canine behaviour has advanced enormously. We now know that emotion drives behaviour, and that lasting change comes from helping dogs feel safe, understood and supported, rather than simply trying to suppress unwanted behaviours.
I believe we can't truly build a relationship with our dogs until we understand how they see the world. That's why I love sharing everything I've learned, helping owners see their dogs through a different lens so they can build trust, confidence and lasting partnerships together.
