Positive Puppy Training Course
£120 6 weeks course
For puppies 16 weeks of age up to year old.
This one to one course we teach the basic skills I feel puppies need to know. This isn't your normal obedience class. Teaching skills is easy and happens naturally when we have learnt how to communicate effectively.
We focus on what is needed for you and your family, what skills will help you all live as happily as you can. Will a stop cue be important due to have children around? A strong leave it cue maybe? A go to your bed cue? Whatever we need to teach we make sure your dog has all the outlets for normal and needed dog behaviour.
Confidence builds resilience, we want a dog who feels comfortable and safe being with you. Clear communication is a must.
Each week we will progress with Recall and Lead Walking, both these skills are vital to keep your dog safe and to help us humans out in day to day life.
Week One - body language presentation, communication and timing games without dogs.
Week Two - Lead walking & Recall
Week Three - one of the chosen skills. In the field, long line training, walking with others, practising recall and lead walking.
Week Four: Impulse Control Practise, Release Words. Recap practise from previous weeks.
Week Five - Taking skills out to novel places
Week Six - Taking skills on the road.
You will all receive a body language slide and recaps of each session. Private facebook group for videos.

Proofing/lifeskills Course
£120
This is a 6 week course for any dog over 6 months of age. We can work in a group class or one to one basis. We concentrate on proofing behaviours, Dogs aren't great at generalisation. You can teach your dog a Sit Stay in the house but it may not be able to achieve that in a environment with distractions. In this course we teach each new behaviour in the field then each week add a level of distraction. This course allows us to see which if any environments your dog may struggle in, we can tailor these moments and teach skills that will help support your dog.
By week 6 each dog will be able to or be on the road to achieving the following in high distraction environments.
Responsiveness, the ability to engage safely in every environment, the ability to settle, the ability to leave desired items or dogs and people. The skills we will teach would be the Leave It, Settle, Recall, scatter feeds, find its, waits, lead walking using a few fun techniques and anything else along the way that’ll be beneficial.
This course will run as a 1 to 1 or a group and will be in various real life locations.
PARKER'S PUPPY PACKAGE
Parker's Puppy Package is the first place to start your puppy journey. Starting even before your puppy arrives home this package arms you with knowledge on crate set ups and what toys and food to buy.
The first 4 weeks is a critical period for their learning development. If your vaccinations are later or if your puppy has medical conditions then this is prefect, you have 1 to 1 sessions in your own home. Have as many as needed until you can join in on a puppy class
What they do or don't learn in this critical learning stage will influence future behaviour.
This package is available without visits and is highly recommended to purchase from the shop as a stand alone product. Contains information on growth and development, positive & negative reinforcement. Preventing unwanted behaviours. Plus training guides and progress tracking.
About the package
The first few visits will be in your home, the first discussing the best way to manage the home environment, answering the questions you have, handling preparation for future visits at vets and groomers, we go through the canine mind in detail, you cannot train something you do not understand. We discuss the personality of your puppy and which training skills to teach first. The 2nd will be teaching the skills we have discussed for you to practise throughout the week, the 3rd will be in my training field giving us the perfect opportunity to train in a new environment, I shall explain the importance of doing so during our visits. The final session will be in an area you will be going to often. This gives the opportunity for me to help you prevent unwanted behaviours and manage situations that usually arise when out and about.
What Parker's Canine Care offers is a 4 week socialisation package from 8 weeks to 12 weeks of age. I can not stress enough this is not a substitute for owner training or the equivalent of a puppy class. This is to guide and support your puppies journey and offer firm foundations on which to shape positive behavior.
It is crucial to remember that training a puppy isn't like programming a machine. You don't just do it once and its done. When training and socialisation continue the dog will become better trained and more sociable. When it stops the dogs sociability and level of training will decrease.
Socialisation, confidence building and temperament training must be accomplished during puppyhood this will help the puppy develop into a good natured, well behaved and happy adult dog.
There are many stages of development that new owners will have no influence over during Neonatal and Transitional periods. But you will for the socialisation period. It starts from 3 weeks to around 12/13 weeks. So when the puppy arrives at their forever home at 8 weeks you're already playing catch up.
This is where the choice of breeder is important. If done correctly your puppy should be desensitised to the physical aspects of a home environment e.g hoover noise, children, people coming and going, positive human interactions etc.
What does it include?

Positive association-depth knowledge of the canine mind
The ability to problem solve unwanted behaviours
